Lightning Protection (LP)

Excessive voltages and currents due to e.g. lightning strikes, will negatively impact operating solar systems and may introduce faults in the grid.

Thus, NS ensures that external LP includes all measures to quench lightning and bring it to the ground through a dedicated lightning/grounding system if necessary.

Direct and Indirect Lightning Effects

While priority is giving to prevent direct lightning falling on the PV modules, NS also addresses indirect lightning effects by integrating solutions that prevent impacts of lightning falling beyond 1 km.

E.g. effective rods are optimized as current arresters for the front and back of the PV modules to maximize protection.

Reverse Current Impacts

Optimum PV system performance also means preventing risks of reverse current due to voltage drop as result of shading or short circuit.

At NS we warrant selection of PV modules for best performance and safety, which can stand reverse current up to 20 amps.
