Key Functions of Inverters
Inverters reconcile the discrepancies of the PV power generator modules and the requirements of the public grid while feeding the solar power efficiently.
Since they are connected directly to the public grid, they track the maximum power point (MPP) of PV energy production and direct current (DC) conversion into public grid-compatible alternating current (AC).
Inverter Characterization
At NS we aim to dimension the inverters taking into consideration the performance trade-offs of energy yield and economic gain on the system.
Because inverters work autonomously from the grid, they all have protective circuit, which enable automatic disconnection from the public grid if voltage or frequency limits are reached.
Inverter Maintenance
While generally inverters operate fault free for at least 10 yrs, (i.e. < 1/2 of the PV generator's life span), at NS we make sure support for inverters is available throughout the life cycle of the PV modules.
To maximize the longevity and performance of the inverter components, they are deployed in the ideal environment spaces or fully protected against dust, high humidity or overheating conditions.
